CHARLES PORTER Obituary
CHARLES ANTHONY PORTER (Age 63)
On Thursday, June 9, 2016 died peacefully at home with family and friends. He retired from the Metropolitan Police Department as a homicide detective and was an Investigator at NCIS at the time of his death. He is survived by his wife, Deborah Clark; his sons, Darin, Jared and Ryan Porter; two sisters and a brother. Visitation on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 from 9 a.m. to 11 a.m.; service to follow at 11 a.m. at Simpson-Hamlin United Methodist Church, 4501 16th Street, NW, Washington, DC 20011. Burial the following day. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marlene and Stewart Greenbaum Cancer Center at the University of Maryland Medical Center.

Not a day goes by that I don´t think of your professionalism, kindness, your big heart filled with God´s Love, your gift of investigation savvy & most of all the courage you displayed throughout your valiant cancer fight while still working to help others. You & NCIS Agent George Taylor worked tirelessly to help our family in 2015. You both were our Earth Angels. Mere words can never convey to the both of you how much we appreciate each of you! We value you both as the truest of Heroes. It is so important to me to have your children know what a special, one of a kind moral human being you were to people. You were the Best of Humanity, You are The Best Of Humanity.

Dearest Deborah and boys,
We knew Tony for a relatively short time, but the impression he left is long- standing. A generous and kind, kind man, a loving and supportive father, and for Deborah, always there, always with her, always on and at her side. The family was most hospitable, supportive, and generous with their time to our son during his stay with them in 2014.
Tony's compassion and courage while working to keep a community safe will be missed. He knew his job, and gave it his all.

Tony was without a doubt one of the most "street wise" investigators I ever had the pleasure to know. He would always go the extra mile to help out on a case and he always brought a smile to my face with his many "war stories". I thoroughly enjoyed being in the interrogation room with him. It was honor to watch him work the suspect and elicit a confession. Tony, you will be missed my friend.

Tony was my friend and coworker. Always a great person to work with and be around. Never afraid to speak his mind and constantly making me laugh. I always looked forward to escaping the office with him and George, listening to the hilarious stories, and then eating some good food. He'll be missed greatly. Tony was our friend & hero. He worked tirelessly to help our family thru a crisis last June 2015 despite his own health issues.
