Charles Schoeplein Obituary



SCHOEPLEIN CHARLES WILFRED SCHOEPLEIN (Age 77) Passed away peacefully on January 25, 2010 at his home, surrounded by his loving family. He was the son of the late Wilfred and Mary Schoeplein of Rocky River, Ohio. Charles proudly served in the United States Air Force and retired as a Lt. Col after 22 years. He served two tours in Vietnam. During his Air Force career, Charles was a much respected pilot, instructor and aeronautical engineer. After retiring from the Air Force, Charles enjoyed a second career of 14 years as a manufacturing representative for Schoeplein and Company, Inc. which included the sale of specialized engineered products. Charles enjoyed hunting and world travel. Dear Father and Father-In-Law of Mariann (Bernie) Lears of St. Louis, MO, Denise (Paul) Taylor of North Granby, CT, Janette (Rick) Burley of Warrenton, VA; Loving Grandfather of Kristen, Kimberly, Matthew and Kellie Lears, April and Charlie Taylor and Michael and David Burley; Brother of James (Sheila) Schoeplein, Karen (Ronald-Deceased) Turgeon, Donald (Connie) Schoeplein, Kevin (Lisa) Schoeplein; uncle, great uncle, cousin and friend to many. A memorial mass will be held at Trinity Catholic Church on Wednesday March 10, 2010 at 12 p.m. Interment will follow in Arlington National Cemetery at 3 p.m. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the American Lung Association, PO Box 35010, Richmond, VA 23235. Arrangements are being .handled by the Burbage Funeral Home in Berlin.
