Dr. Cheryl Mason
On Friday, July 22, 2016 at her home in Woodbridge, Virginia. She leaves her children Alisha and Samuel Dixon, Maurice and Lawrence Walker; her life partner, Keith Robinson; grandchildren, Marley and Calloway Majette, Adia and Mykah Walker; two brothers, three sisters, and a host of other relatives and friends. Friends may call at the Ebenezer AME Church, 7707 Allentown Road, Ft. Washington, MD on Thursday, July 28 from 11 a.m. until time of service at noon. Arrangements entrusted to Greene Funeral Home, Alexandria, VA.

Dear Alisha, Marley, and Calloway: We are deeply saddened to hear that your beloved Mother and Grandmother passed away. I'm sorry we could not attend her homegoing services in person but kept all of you in love and prayer today as you remembered her beautiful life and said goodbyes. Her spirit will never die and her light shines brightly in each of you always. May the precious memories bring you comfort. She is at peace with God in the loving arms of her Savior. I'm very saddened to lose one of the "corner stones" of the Mason family. My Aunt was one of the strongest women I have ever known. She had a strong sense of family and heritage; always offering her wisdom and sound counsel!! I'm proud that she was my Aunt and I'm very happy that she is now at peace and is resting in the Lord!!

I feel very privileged to have had an opportunity to get to know Cheryl. Although, only a short time, a very treasured time.
We met while we were both getting treatment for cancer, at The Oasis of Hope Hospital, in December.
My Auntie Elna, myself and Cheryl, became good friends, in a very short time. It felt like we had known each other "forever."
We shared laughs, love, hugs and tears
We are sending heartfelt sympathy to all Cheryl's friends and family.
It has been an honor and a privilege, to be able to Say, "Cheryl is my friend."
She will be missed by everyone who's life she has touched.

I have known Cheryl for over 40 years. Around twenty years ago she called me,and told me she needed a Godmother and since then she has been my only Godchild. She delivered 2 of my grandchildren and has been a wonderful addition to my family. I am happy God in his wisdom of time has delivered my baby from her pain and allowed her to smile again. She was one of the beautiful children my best friend mothered. Thanks to all of her family for sharing her.

She had such an infectious smile and her gifts both creatively and professionally will be missed.
