To the Sarantis Family,

We were deeply saddened to learn of Chris' passing. Our hearts are with all of you at this time.

We have recently moved to North Carolina, but for many years Spartan's was our family restaurant. And, Spartans is the place we want to return to when we come for a visit. We shall so miss not seeing Chris and his welcoming smile. We watched your children grow as you watched ours, always treating them too with such kindness. We were always treated with warmth and respect by Chris and every member of the family and the staff. The community has indeed lost a most wonderful, kind, and caring man.

May love surround you at this time, and may you know that our family's hearts are with you.

Dear Xenia and Family,
It is with a heavy heart that we send our sincere condolences to you at this time. We were away in London when we learned of the sudden death of your beloved husband/father ; we lifted you in thoughts and prayers wherever we went. Our neighborhood as well as the entire community has been a better place with the Sarantis Family. Chris will be sorely missed; his kindness and generosity touched many, and the example set by him of love of family was indeed a testament to model. His captivating smile was a blessing he bestowed upon those he encountered. May he rest in peace and may comfort find you in this time of loss.

Dear Xenia and Family,

We are deeply saddened by your loss. Chris has been a pillar of the community and a good friend who made every Spartan's customer feel like family. He was part of what makes this area so wonderful in which to live.

From the first week Spartan's opened in Burke we were hooked(Reuben Sandwich & Char-broiled chicken breast!) Visits from a relative, holiday meals, a newborn son's first meal out or family parties were made even more special by the great food, family atmosphere and friendly greetings from Chris & the staff at Spartan's.

We will pray for the repose of his soul. Treasure the happy moments he spent with all of you on this earth and know that he is with our Creator.

Dear Sarantis family,

I was shocked when my father called to tell me the news of Chris's death. The sudden incident brought an end to this wonderful man that was too soon.

Words really cannot express how sad I feel. My heart is filled with sympathy on the loss of your beloved husband, father and family member. I loved him too.

Chris was such a colorful man. I have never seen a man so dedicated to his work. He lived for Spartans. And was so funny and entertaining; always willing to talk to the staff and customers. Devoted to his beautiful family, he loved being surrounded by you all and I am sure he cherished every moment spent. I know the source of pride you all were to him.

It seems like yesterday that I was trying to buy my first car and asked him for advice. He was very knowledgeable and when I bought it, I couldn't wait for him to see it. He was always very supportive of my studies and helped me through some tough times.

I know how much you will miss Chris. We all will. But I know you will remember the many blessings of the beautiful years you shared together. He loved you so much and you were always a source of strength to him.

My prayers and thoughts are with you all. May God grand you comfort during this difficult time. I know that many people are here to help, but if you ever need anything, I am just a phone call and a 45 minute flight away.

Dear Xenia and family,
We were stunned and saddened to learn of Chris' sudden passing. He always had a friendly greeting for us, whether it was in the restaurant or on Lake Meadow Drive. It will not be the same walking around the circle, without seeing Chris coming the other way on his bike. Our thoughts are with you,

Although I did not know Mr. Sarantis very well, it is not hard to see what kind of influence he has had on his community and his family. As one of George's former teachers I was very fortunate to see through George the commitment, dedication, and love his father has for his family and community. It is comforting to know that even though I did not know Mr. Sarantis well I can be in his company through his family and his commitment to Spartans and Olympians. All the best to his family and everyone else that was fortunate enough to have been a part of his life.

He was just a generous, loving man who would do anything for anyone at any time. My heart goes out to the Sarantis family and my thoughts are with you all during this very hard time.

Dearest Sarantis family,
I was so saddened and shocked to hear of your loss. We didn't know Chris personally, but know his lovely daughter and new grandson Peter, and his lovely neice. We eat at one of your restaurants at least once a week and whenever we go on vacation, it is the first place we want to go when we get back. Chris created restaurants unlike any in this area. The food, and service is always good! What a wonderful servant he was to our community! Please know my thoughts and prayers have been with you ever since I found out this sad news. I will continue to pray for you and your families in the days, weeks, months, and years to come. That's a promise! May God wrap his loving arms around you and give you comfort and sweet memories to carry you through the days ahead.

Love and Continued Prayers,
Monica

Xenia and Family,
I am speechless with the passing of Chris. Your family has been a second family to me and my children. There are not enough words to express what a wonderful man Chris was. He touched everyone he came in contact with, from the very beginning at Saratoga Pizzeria to Spartans. Along with your family the Springfield and Burke communities have endured a great loss.

My thoughts and prayers are with you.

To the Sarantis family. We did not know Chris closely, but we eat at Spartans at least once every week. This is a restaurant that goes beyond just being a business, it greatly supports the Burke and Springfield community as well, including organizations for the physically and mentally disabled. We are sad to hear of Chris passing at such a young age, and extend our sincere wishes for comfort at this difficult time.

Christos created a small town welcome in a very large town. Everyone goes to SPARTANS or OLYMPIANS. And when entertaining and needing help, we all called Christos and Xenia. They made the party for us. Spartans is our Birthday Club restaurant of choice and our #1 too tired to cook refuge. They never tire. Chris' smile, handshake and pat on the back, along with a little village philosophy made our day! You will so be missed, our friend. MAY YOUR MEMORY BE ETERNAL. And to the family ; long life and prosperity.

My thoughts and prayers are with Xenia and all her family. The loss of Chris is too hard to express. He was unlike anyone I have ever known. Kind, generous to a fault, untiring, always upbeat...a Greek philosopher. Good friend. He was so proud to be an American.

It breaks my heart to hear of Chris' passing. He was a wonderful man and a very valuable member of the community. In such a large and transient area, Chris and Xenia created Spartans, where friends and neighbors meet and always feel at home.

My love and prayers go out to his family. I will miss seeing his smiling face. May his memory be eternal.

To my dearest family, some things I'd like to say...
but first of all, to let you know, that I arrived okay.
I'm writing this from heaven. Here I dwell with God above.
Here, there's no more tears of sadness; here is just eternal love.

Please do not be unhappy just because I'm out of sight.
Remember that I'm with you every morning, noon and night.
That day I had to leave you when my life on earth was through,
God picked me up and hugged me and He said, "I welcome you."

It's good to have you back again; you were missed while you were gone.
As for your dearest family, they'll be here later on.
I need you here badly; you're part of my plan.
There's so much that we have to do, to help our mortal man."

God gave me a list of things, that he wished for me to do.
And foremost on the list, was to watch and care for you.
And when you lie in bed at night, the day's chores put to flight.
God and I are closest to you....in the middle of the night.

When you think of my life on earth, and all those loving years
because you are only human, they are bound to bring you tears.
But do not be afraid to cry; it does relieve the pain.
Remember there would be no flowers, unless there was some rain.

I wish that I could tell you all that God has planned.
But if I were to tell you, you wouldn't understand.
But one thing is for certain, though my life on earth is o'er.
I'm closer to you now, than I ever was before.

There are many rocky roads ahead of you and many hills to climb;
but together we can do it by taking one day at a time.
It was always my philosophy and I'd like it for you too...
that as you give unto the world, the world will give to you.

If you can help somebody who's in sorrow and pain,
then you can say to God at night......"My day was not in vain."
And now I am contented....that my life has been worthwhile,
knowing as I passed along the way, I made somebody smile.

So if you meet somebody who is sad and feeling low,
just lend a hand to pick him up, as on your way you go.
When you're walking down the street, and you've got me on your mind;
I'm walking in your footsteps only half a step behind.

And when it's time for you to go.... from that body to be free,
remember you're not going.....you're coming here to me.
