CHRISTINE BRIGGS Obituary

CHRISTINE BRIGGS (Age 59)
Of McLean, Virginia and Bald Head Island, North Carolina passed away on Friday, November 14, 2014. Christine was a vibrant, kind, and generous person who loved her family and friends deeply. She will be remembered for her brilliant smile, her warm spirit, and her enthusiasm for life. She took care of her family both near and far, going out of her way to make sure everyone knew how special they were to her. She was tremendously organized and loved to take on new challenges and projects - building, fixing, baking, gardening, creating. Whatever project she took on, she would dedicate herself to learning everything she needed to know and mastering the skills needed to achieve perfection. She was a wonder to watch in action. She loved long walks on the beach, raucous family reunions, and quiet evenings at home with her husband.Christine was born on August 17, 1955 in Columbus, Ohio. She graduated from Bishop Ready High School in 1973. She earned both a Bachelor's degree (1977) and a Master's degree (1981) in Business Administration from The Ohio State University, graduating summa cum laude both times. She married her husband Alan Briggs in 1991 and together they share four children: Caitlin McCormick, Jason (Sharon) Briggs, Aimee (Steven) Wall, and Anna (Jeff) Wilson. She is also survived by her mother Patricia Murnane and siblings Timothy (Debbie) Murnane, Colleen (Bill) Rains, Shari (Neil Johnson) Lacey, and Theresa (Derwood) Haines. She will also be missed dearly by her eight adoring grandchildren (Trenton, Meredith, Griffin, Tessa, Phoenix, Laney, Aquilae, and Seraphine) as well as many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her father, Don Murnane, her first husband Dan McCormick, and her son Jared Briggs. The family will receive visitors at Money and King Funeral Home in Vienna, Virginia on Saturday, November 22, 2014 from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. A memorial service will be held immediately after the visitation at the same location. Christine was taken from this world much too soon by plasma cell leukemia. More research about this rare disease is certainly needed. Should friends desire, contributions may be made in her honor to the Lymphoma And Leukemia Society (www.lls.org).
