Christine Garo Obituary
CHRISTINE BENEDICT GARO
Of Bethesda, known to her friends as "Kiki", passed away peacefully on July 13, 2022 in Wichita, KS. Born in Boston, MA on October 9, 1925 to the late Eric George Benedict and Myra Christine Welles Benedict. She attended the Dana Hall School and graduated from Vassar College in 1946. She married and then later divorced Robert J. Orr, Jr. She is preceded in death by her husbands' Lucien P. Garo and Thomas P. Nelson, and is survived by her two children, Robert J. Orr III (Patricia) of Waverly, GA, and Phoebe C. Orr-Richardson (Thomas) of Wichita, KS, five stepchildren, Cecelia Bruno (Mario), Lucien Garo Jr. (Debbie), Adrienne Garo, Elizabeth Garo, Monique Duke (Dan), six grandchildren, 14 step-grandchildren and 15 great and step great-grandchildren.
Private burial. Memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, October 28, reception to follow, at the Episcopal Church of the Redeemer, 6201 Dunrobbin Dr., Bethesda, MD 20816. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Church of the Epiphany for the Street Church Fund, 1317 G Street NW, Washington DC 20005, https://onrealm.org/EpiphanyDC/-/give/Offerings; Montgomery County Humane Society, 601 S Stonestreet Ave, Rockville, MD, 20850. On behalf of my brother Don Nelson and myself( ellen Nelson) we are sending our condolences. Although we didn´t see her much, whenever we spoke to her she was always so kind and enjoyed sharing stories with us about our father(Bob) and Uncle Tom. May her memory be a blessing to you all

Condolences to the family. Christine and her husband Lucien were clients of mine for a long time. I really enjoyed working for and getting to know them. Good people. I will miss them both.
