I was a student at LaReine HS. Mrs. Murphy was a favorite teacher of many of us. We loved her energy, her youthfulness, her passion for teaching English & ability to connect with us on many levels. We knew she was special, but never realized how special she was until probably later in our educational endeavors. What we learned from her was far more than English literature. She was more a friend than teacher. She gave all of us confidence so much so that we wanted to do well for her. She was cute and funny, serious & playful. She was only 9-10 yrs older than we were at the time, giddy about her husband John & loving her young life. It´s wonderful to see all the amazing places she taught & how she influenced her students. So exciting that she became an amazing mother, friend, neighbor & mentor to so many people in her life. No doubt she will be missed, but what an amazing life & story to recall.
Rest in peace Mrs. Murphy. No more suffering, just joy knowing you were so loved.

I knew Christine because her son and I are friends, and from the moment I met her I knew that she too was my friend.
Christine, or as I called her, Murphy's Mom was welcoming, warm, gracious, and always made me feel like one of the family. It has been years since the last time I got to see her, but her upbeat yet relaxed aura is something that will stick with me forever. The world has lost a good one.
Condolences to her family and all who knew her.
Rest in peace "Murphy's Mom".
