I had a great deal of fun with Chris and his son Bradley several years ago at summer camp with Troop 1145. I conned Chris in competing in the Belly Flop Contest and I made a "Ruler of the Deep End" costume for him. He was a pleasure to call friend (he supplied me with fruit the whole week). Thoughts and prayers go out to his family.

To the Cooley Family,

My thoughts and prayers go out to you all during this difficult time. I worked with Chris at Balmar for many years. He was the nicest, most genuine person you could ever meet. I will always remember his approach, trying to hold back an ear to ear grin, the tell-tale signs that Chris had yet another humorous story to impart. I knew him to be a loving and devoted husband, a proud father, and a great friend. He will be missed dearly.

To Chris's family, my heart and prayers are with you at this difficult time. I worked with Chris at Balmar for many years and he was a wonderful person and always made me smile. I will always remember his family stories and how happy he was to find a new adventure in his life when he left us at Balmar. He had a kind heart and I will never forget him. Rest in Peace Chris.

Dear Cooley Family,

I had the pleasure and privilege of working with Chris for over 15 years. He was a perpetual source of wit, a ray of sunshine in every day, and that guy you knew you would like on sight. And, he was a terrifically valuable member of the Balmar team. He was always armed with stories of Scout outings, fishing, and his girls and there was always a palpable sense of love in every story. I will miss his quick smile, easy-going style, and his friendship. You are in my prayers.

My deepest sympathy for the loss of Chris. I would be hard-pressed to find a "Cello Dad" more proud and enthusiastic about his kids, and always lending a helping hand at classes and recitals. I will miss him, but he will hear us make music, always.

Love,
Aron

Thnk u Chris/Brad for mowing moms lawn for yrs!!

September 24, 2009

The family of Stien Van Egmond is so shocked and sorry to hear of Chris's passing. For years Chris and his boy Brad would throw the lawn mower in their truck and head over to my elderly mothers home and mow the front and back lawn. My mother was so grateful whenever they came. She had fallen trying to mow her own lawn and had to crawl on her hands and knees through her back door to find a chair that would assist her with getting up. Chris knew no family lived near by and just mowed it! Chris told me this summer when I was visiting that he wanted to teach the world and his kids that if you see something that has to be done, "just go do it"! We are so appreciative that he just "did it" out of the kindness of his big heart. Thank-you Chris for being such a great example for all of us. Here is a picture of my elderly mother doing therapy after an amputation. Chris may you get your reward in heavan for all your good deeds! Thank-you Brad for all the mowings too! To the family, we are so sorry for your loss.Tilly and the Stien Van Egmond family.

Dear Cooley family,

You do not know who I am, however my mother Stien will never forget your family's generosity! Margie, you and Chris have raised a super young man Bradley, who religiously mows and takes care of her lawn.
You are a tremendous family! Stay strong and continue to pull for eachother. Chris's legacy will live on. Our condolences from halfway across this great nation.

To the Cooley Family,
We are all so sorry for your loss. I'm honored to call Chris my friend and fellow Scouter. I looked forward to seeing his smile at scout meetings and he always had the coffee ready on our camping trips. I'm a better man for having known Chris and his legacy lives on in the many young men that he influenced through Troop 1145. You all will continue to be in our thoughts and prayers.

Dear Margie and Family,

Our hearts and prayers go out to you during this difficult time. I pray for God's peace and presence to grow stronger as each day goes by.
Sincerely, Heidi Gallegos
