Just learning of Coke Florance's passing, and I must record my appreciation for the mentorship culture of Keyes Condon Florance. I knew it was a special place then, and I remember it fondly as a balance of serious, quality design and joie de vivre. Coke brought that joy to the firm. Thank you, Coke Florance.

I have vivid and fond memories of Coke Florence. It was my good fortune during an economic downturn in 1677 to get a job at KCF and be welcomed and mentored by Coke. For a young architect striving to be a designer of quality buildings in DC Coke couldn't have been a better teacher. He not only encouraged me in building design but also taught me management skills and people skills. Coke shared his joy for work and people freely. I am so glad to have known and worked with Coke. My thoughts and sympathies are with Coke's family. Sincerely, Thomas N Eichbaum
