DAISY SEWELL Obituary
DAISY PEEBES SEWELL
Known to many as "Ms. Daisy', entered into eternal rest on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at her home and surrounded by faithful friends and her home health caregiver. Born May 10, 1920 in Washington, Daisy was a lifelong Georgetown resident. Daisy was a loyal and devoted member of St. Mary's Episcopal Church, Foggy Bottom, where she leaves a legacy of 75 plus years of service in all areas of parish life. She is survived by two cousins, Linda Nwosu of Jonesborough, TN and Lana Lu Love of Washington, DC; and a host of neighbors and friends. A Mass of Resurrection celebrating Daisy's life will be held at St. Mary's Parish, on Saturday, January 27 at 5 p.m. Friends may gather in the parish nave at 4 p.m. until the time of the service. A reception will follow the service in the Parish Hall. In lieu of flowers, donations can be given to St. Mary's Episcopal Church for the Daisy Sewell Memorial Vestry Fund, 728 23rd Street NW, Washington, DC 20037.

Ms. Daisy, thank you so much for all that you taught me about your life in Georgetown, which overlapped with the lives of my Georgetown relatives, including my great-great-great-grandmother, Rebecca Harris, formerly of 2603 O Street. Getting to know you was a real joy and I thank God for allowing our paths to cross. The Kent/Peebles/Sewell family is all back together again. RIP.

Ms. Daisy, your warmth and support were the main things that brought me to St. Mary's Episcopal Church. You taught so many lessons to me and others about love, kindness, and beauty. You dazzled my students who came to interview you last year! Thanks for giving us such wonderful, enduring memories!

Friends - Miss Daisy was a good friend and a marvelous storyteller. Like many of you, I gained so much from my times with her. I am sorry that she has passed, but am happy that her trials are over now.
