Daniel Lee Beiro

Daniel Lee Beiro (57) passed away unexpectedly of chronic disease on June 22, 2025 at his home in Alexandria, Virginia.
Dan was born in Alexandria in 1968, the youngest of nine children of Jean O'Connell Beiro and Alexander A. Beiro (both deceased). He graduated from Bishop O'Connell High School in Arlington, Virginia and studied civil engineering and graphic design at Northern Virginia Community College. As an electrical foreman at data center operations, Dan was a proud member of IBEW Local Union 26, Washington, D.C. His work brought him great joy and also included the wiring of numerous commercial and residential facilities in the Washington metropolitan area.
Dan was a natural athlete who fearlessly learned to ski at a young age, played football throughout his youth, and enjoyed road cycling. He was an accomplished artist, having won awards at juried competitions sponsored by the Alexandria Torpedo Factory Art Center. Dan was an avid reader and curious researcher of many topics such as history, art and politics. He possessed an extensive collection of rare used books, including art by European Masters, the U.S. Civil War, world history and geopolitical topics. Dan developed a significant collection of vintage electrical equipment and electrical engineering textbooks. He was fond of dogs and devoted to his beloved cats. For many years, Dan was a believer in the principles of Alcoholics Anonymous and served in the AA communities in Winchester and Alexandria. As part of his AA service, he was a caring sponsor for many members and made significant contributions to their health and recovery journeys.
Dan was preceded in death by his oldest brother, Alexander A. Beiro, Jr. Survivors include his seven siblings, 13 nieces and nephews, eight great-nieces and nephews, and loving friends.
