On Wednesday, July 14, 2004, of Springfield, VA. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Charles O. Handley, Jr.; mother of Benjamin R. and Thomas B. Handley; step mother of Rebecca Handley Foster and Rachael G. Handley; grandmother of Becky, Ceith, Blythe, Sarah, Anneke and Emily. Interment private. Memorial contributions may be made in memory of Darelyn Handley c/o Northern Virginia Conservation Trust, 4022 Hummer Rd., Annandale, VA 22003.

When Ward and I first moved into the neighborhood, Darelyn was one of the first to introduce herself to us. It was through her that we became involved in the Civic Association and was able to meet other neighbors. She always seemed to know just about everything that happened or was about to happen to Springvale. She cared about her neighbors and always campaigned to maintain Springvale's uniqueness.
She will surely be missed.
