David Cogar Obituary



COGAR DAVID A. COGAR (Age 69) Of Washington DC, passed away at Suburban Hospital on Sunday April 25, 2010 due to complications from open-heart surgery. He is survived by his wife, Joanne Cogar; his son David Cogar, Jr. and wife Danielle; his daughter Kristen Burtle and husband Andrew. He is also survived by four loving grandchildren and a brother, John Cogar, and his wife Mary. A memorial service will be held at the Washington National Cathedral in the Bethlehem Chapel, Saturday May 1 at 2 p.m. with a reception to follow. The cathedral is located at 3101 Wisconsin Avenue NW, Washington DC 20016. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Cathedral at the above address or to the American Heart Association at www.americanheart.org/donate .

Dear Joanne. I was so very sorry to hear the sad news of David. I will always remember David's smile and friendly greetings when ever we saw each other outside and will miss him greatly. You and your family have my deepest sympathies.

We will miss his wonderful smile and the genuine warmth he has always shown us. His love and good humor with his family and grandchildren were constant and contagious.
