Dixie Rettig Obituary
Dixie travelled extensively, both nationally and internationally, taking in all of the world she could, and sharing her experiences, and gained knowledge, with anyone who cared to listen and learn. She was a widely respected textile conservator, quilter and quilting instructor, needlework historian, and worked with the Smithsonian Institution to create, produce, and exhibit the Trees of Christmas.
Dixie is survived by two children, Lisa Rettig and Buzz Rettig (Maggie); six grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
A service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, please contribute to FINCA and/or the Fredericksburg Food Bank.
