So sorry to learn of David's passing - always enjoyed seeing him at various hunger and food events over the years - he has been a strong advocate and mover in this field. I know my students also appreciated his perspectives and support for their own aspirations to emulate him and his work.

David was such a wonderful connector of people and ideas related to food security, and he will be very much missed. Always encouraging, always optimistic, his example reminds us that we can accomplish great things when we work together. I never once had a conversation or email exchange with David when he didn't spark a new idea or come up with a person that I needed to know - and he was always right! Thank you, David, and may you rest in peace.

Those of us who were privileged to know David Lambert were granted a very special gift. He was an uncommon man gifted, gentle, committed, thoughtful, and kind. He encouraged many to be more, and to do more. It was always a pleasure to be in his presence. I'm heartbroken by his passing. I extend my deepest sympathies to David's family; you are in my thoughts and prayers.

What an excellent man and true public servant. David immediately took me under his wing when I moved to Washington following my own father's untimely death. He inducted me into the 116 Club and provided valuable advice as I was trying to start my career. Recently, David was a big part of my father's memorial dinner at Columbia Country Club earlier this year. I will always remember David's innate kindness. He truly was a special person.

Sometimes it's the little things that so impresses me about a person. David Lambert, was the sum total of a million Little pieces of humanity that made him a giant of a person. If you only briefly met him, you were charmed by his gentleness, graciousness and warm smile. If you were fortunate to enjoy a meal with him the conversation was intriguing and delightful. Recently he had expanded his ambience to memorizing a poem each day and reciting it as an after dinner Laquir.
We will all miss this treasure chest of a gentleman, yet he is on a new life mission. Most likely gathering with the Angels of higher knowing and charming his way into the conference for the new humanity. For Walker, Nelly and Taylor we all share your deep sudden loss. His light and love will be ever present in all our heart's. Mary and Ray

Please accept my sincere sympathies. May God's holy spirit or active force, equip you with the " power beyond what is normal " to go from one day to the next. ( 2 Corinthians 4 : 7 ) Remember : God can help his faithful servants to endure any and every problem they may face.

David Lambert was a brilliant man, erudite, caring, easy to connect with and endlessly rewarding to have as a friend. He left this earth prematurely. He should have lived to be at least 100 years old.
His sudden death has been a deep shock to family and friends--to the many, many folks who came to know and to love him.
The sadness that affects us at this moment will be relieved to an extent by our memories of his presence, his warm personality, his dedication to helping others--battling hunger, here in the States as well as around the globe--with an especially keen eye kept focused on the plight of malnourished children.
David had so many gifts, and such a giving nature, that memories of his life will be spread far and wide among the folks who have been fortunate enough to have had a relationship with this great human being. We are profoundly sad over his passing, surely, however our memories of being with David can bring us joy.

David was such an important part of our life when we lived in DC. We were neighbors on Alton Place. He was definitely one of the kindest and gentlest men I have ever known. Our families took many weekend trips together to the mountains and enjoyed many backyard barbecues. My deepest and heartfelt condolences to Walker, Taylor, and Diana. It will take a entire lifetime to forget this very special and unselfish man.
