Not sure what to say?

David was my most trusted friend and mentor. He was inspiring and brought the best in people. I will always miss him.

So sorry to learn of David's passing - always enjoyed seeing him at various hunger and food events over the years - he has been a strong advocate and mover in this field. I know my students also appreciated his perspectives and support for their own aspirations to emulate him and his work.

David was such a wonderful connector of people and ideas related to food security, and he will be very much missed. Always encouraging, always optimistic, his example reminds us that we can accomplish great things when we work together. I never once had a conversation or email exchange with David when he didn't spark a new idea or come up with a person that I needed to know - and he was always right! Thank you, David, and may you rest in peace.

David was the best friend anyone could have and one of the most spiritual people I have ever known who was dedicated to assuring that no one in the world goes hungry.

I will always remember David, who always known the right answer to keep the discussion on track. We will miss him very much ...

David was a light shining bright in the world. He made a difference. A real class act.

David was an enormously talented individual and above all, a gentleman first class.

David was an inspiration to all of us who care about issues of hunger and food security. Students and faculty in the Food & Ag program at the University of Arkansas School of Law mourn his passing and extend their sympathies to all of his family and friends. We greatly appreciated his mentorship, support, and guidance.

Our world has lost a kind, loving, caring advocate for ending world hunger, and we have lost our friend! Rest in peace, good and faithful servant. We loved you, Doc!
