I just learned from a mutual friend about David's passing. I'm so terribly sorry. I honestly had no idea he was even ill. I worked with David, Vicki and Sarah at Sattler and Fishman. I'd been home with my daughter and when she started at Gesher in 2006 I learned that the firm was seeking a part time admin. Working with David was wonderful! He was a great boss and friend. I have fond memories of all of us eating lunch in the conference room. I remember being stressed out about all the phone calls coming in and David said to relax, he was not a surgeon and not to be stressed...David also gave me valuable advice about selling one of my businesses. I remember David telling me that he was concerned that Ethan was reading graphic novels and we talked about how all reading is good reading, I think Ethan was in 4th grade. I regret not keeping up with David. I share these memories with you because I know how important memories can be, when a loved one has passed. May G-d comfort all of you during this most difficult time

There is a permanent hole in the hearts of those who loved David. He was taken away from Margaret, Ethan, and Benjamin much too soon. He would have given anything In return for having more years with Margaret and seeing his boys grow up, but I never, ever, heard him complain about his illness or otherwise demonstrate any self-pity. I will always remember my friend for his wit, intelligence, and kindness, and all the other ways he touched my life and those of others.

I knew David from the early days of Camp Achva and knew his family well. We grew up in the same town. To his mom, Betzi, I send my sincere condolences. He was a shining star and always had a smile on his face. He loved life and was truly a nice guy. Very sorry for the loss to his wife and children. Keep him tucked away in your hearts always.

I was blessed to meet David through his brother Steve. Steve has always held a special place in his heart for David and his family, and spoke of him often with pride. I have fond memories of David and his wife visiting my home many years ago. I grieve with all the Sattler family.

I was lucky enough to meet David through friends in college and graduate school. His warmth, humor and intellect are eternal.

I met David at Stratford Junior High. We were lifelong friends. My mind overflows with memories. From trips to Civil War sites and museums, to discussing my teaching ideas, to building sukkahs, to planning W-L Class of '77 reunionsmy life has been richer because David was part of it. He was the truest and most faithful of friends.
