Wow, I was stunned to read about David's passing in Cornell's online magazine. David and I were fraternity brothers, he was my "little brother" and I still have the pledge paddle he made for me. He had a sharp intellect and loved to argue, I knew he'd be a very successful lawyer!
Condolences and best wishes to his family and friends.

I'm so sorry to learn of David's passing. While at Syracuse University, I competed with David and his teammates at many tournaments where he represented Cornell. His wit and intelligence made him an effective debater, which carried over into his legal career. While I mourn his loss I celebrate the joy he brought into my life and the lives of others.

Marcia and I were very sad to hear of David´s passing. We spent a lot of time discussing not only work issues but challenges in the DC Jewish community. Please accept our deepest condolences. The world lost a terrific human being. May he rest in peace.

Dear Stacey,
Yvonne and I were both saddened to get the news yesterday. I have very fond memories of David from when we shared an apartment in our second and third years of law school. While very disciplined and focused, he was a true gentleman and optimist. When his car was repeatedly burglarized and ultimately stolen, he would exclaim, "Bad year for my car!" We are glad to have met you nearly thirty years ago. While life has taken us down different geographic paths, we remember David and send our condolences to you, your immediate family, and David's parents and sisters.

Dear Topol Family,
Please accept my most sincere condolences on David's passing.
My name is Benjy Cohen, a childhood friend of David's. In fact, I think it is fair to say that David and I were best friends through 4th grade. I have so many memories from that time, and would be happy to share some if you'd like. (I live in Toronto and so am unable to attend the siva, but please feel free to reach out to me at [email protected].) One memory I recall is my parents driving him home after a play date in honor of my birthday, and arriving to find that Barbara had gone into labor. I think it is Daniella who shares my November 26 birthday.
Hoping that you all take comfort in happy memories and the support from one another. May you know only simchas.
Sincerely,
Benjy
