Delores Anderson Obituary

Entered peacefully into eternal rest with loving family by her side on August 29, 2025. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, James Anderson, Jr. She is survived by her adored children, Debra Anderson, Cynthia (Gary) Broden, James (Angie) Anderson, III, and Monica (Marvin) Cherry; loving sisters-in-law, Nancy and Bernice Anderson; brothers-in-law, Colonious (Deborah), Gregory (Phillis) and John Anderson; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; host of other cherished relatives and friends.
A native of Washington, DC, Mrs. Anderson retired as the Clerk of the Board, Department of Labor after 33 plus years. A lifelong faithful member of the Mount Airy Baptist and she served on several auxiliaries.
On Monday September 15, 2025, Mrs. Anderson will lie in state at Mount Airy Baptist Church, 1100 North Capitol Street, NW, Washington, DC 20002, from 10 a.m. until the celebration of life service 11 a.m. Services will be livestreamed @mountairybaptistchurchDC (YouTube). Final resting place at National Harmony Memorial Park, Landover, MD. Services entrusted to the Stewart Funeral Home.
