DENA MARIE MITCHELL-JOHNSON
Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 20, 2016. Dena is survived by her loving husband, Michael Johnson; parents, Gene Sator and Dorothy Mitchell; two brothers, seven sisters, a host of other relatives and friends. Services, Friday February, 12, 2016 at Greater Mt. Calvary Holy Church, Bishop Alfred A. Owens, Jr., 610 Rhode Island Avenue, NE, viewing from 9:30 a.m. until time of service at 10:30 a.m. Interment Fort Lincoln Cemetery. Professional services, R.N. Horton, Co.www.hortonsfh.com

I am so grateful to God for allowing such a precious human being (Dena)to have shared the times we shared together, though it may not have been everyday nor did we talk often but when we did it was always laughter, smiles and big hugs and most of all a fun times to be remembered. Which I will always remember Dena. I love you sis "May the work you've done speak for you" As it has. R.I.P.

The time has come for closing books and long last looks must end. But, as she left, she knew she was leaving her best friend. She taught me right from wrong, and weak to strong--wow, that's a lot to learn. But, I was thinking, what could I give her in return? If she wanted the stars, the moon, the heavens, I would write across the sky in big letters that would show from 1,000 feet high--"To Dena, with Love. You now have your wings!"
