Derrick Macinnis Obituary

MACINNIS DERRICK LINGO MacINNIS Derrick Lingo MacInnis on Sunday, December 23, 2007 at age 45. Loving husband of Suzanne; son of Captain Derrick and Nancy MacInnis; son-in-law of Clara Gills; brother of Nancy, Martha, Kate and Courtney; brother-in-law to Robert H. and George W. Gills, and Janet M. Kimble. He will also be missed by his nieces and nephew, cousins, as well as by his faithful companions and dogs, Aiko and Madison. Memorial service will be held at St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, 3304 Washington Blvd. in Arlington, VA on Saturday, Jan. 5, 2007 at Noon. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society at 5845 Richmond Highway, #800, Alexandria, VA 22303

Suzanne,
I cried when I heard Big D (JUMBO TO ME)had passed. There were very few men I worked with in my long bartending career that I liked more then Derrick. We nad many laughs and he was a great bartender. My prayers for you and all of his family.

Derrick always lit up my life working with him at the Wharf Bar. He was truly one of a kind, a good friend to both of us, and we will miss him very much.

Oh Lovey,

We are so saddened by the death of "Big D". Words can not say enough about how he will be missed. Dan and I were sharing our memories the other night of Derrick and laughed at all of them! Going to get our first Christmas tree with you guys, and how we got lost waiting for the tractor to pick us up! How Derrick held the tree above his head to make it taller than Dan so he could get on the tractor first! Oh we will miss him. Thinking of you Lovey and keeping you both in our prayers. LOVE YOU!
