Dorothy Moss Obituary

MOSS DOROTHY LOUISE MOSS (Age 77) Departed this life on December 19, 2007 at 9:52 a.m. She was born January 11, 1930 in Okmulgee, Oklahoma to Elmer J. Sallis and Ruby Marie Briggs. Elmer was part owner of a moving and storage company and cab driver. Ruby raised the 3 children and worked on the local election board, Precinct 8, for many years. Dorothy grew up in Okmulgee with an older sister, Rheba and an older brother, Raymond “Bud.” She attended Okmulgee High School with her best friend Cleota Thomas. She met her husband Glenn Arthur Moss at a local dance and she married him at on April 3, 1947 at age 17. They celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary this year. She traveled world-wide and lived overseas in Japan and Germany. Dorothy‘s working career included retail sales and 14 years of civil service with the U.S. Department of the Treasury, Government Printing Office and Department of State in Washington DC. She was preceded in death by her sister Rheba Sallis Cramblet and brother Raymond “Bud” Sallis. She is survived by her husband, Glenn Arthur Moss, Okmulgee; her two sons, Glenn Anthony Moss, Okmulgee and Christopher Scott Moss, Palmdale CA; three grandsons, Nathan Moss, Ft Campbell KY, Gabriel Moss, Camano Island WA and Stephen Moss, Palmdale CA; three granddaughters, Chelsea, Shelby and Kelly Moss, Palmdale CA; seven great-grandchildren and her life long friend, Cleota Thomas, Okmulgee, OK. She has donated her body to science to help find a cure for cancer. There will be a Memorial Service at McClendon-Winters Funeral Home Chapel on Saturday, December 22 at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests a contribution to the American Cancer Society in her name. We will all miss you (Dot, Mom, MeMa) and will always remember you with a smile. As you put it, “The best is yet to come.”
