EARL CONNOR Obituary
Earl Alfred Connor
Of Springfield, VA (previously McLean) passed away on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at the age of 92. Earl was born on August 24, 1924, son of Robert and Mae Elizabeth Connor in Arlington, VA. He was a loving husband, father, brother, grandfather, great-grandfather and friend. He is survived by his daughters, Dottie Harvey (Bill), Robin Pafford (Brad) and Edie Pybus (Mike); seven grandchildren, Joshua (Cori), Kelly, Courtney (Andrew), Samuel, Christina, Emilyann, Bryant; two great-grandsons, Connor and Logan and nephews, Ed Connor and Bobby Connor. He is preceded in death by his devoted and loving wife of 63 years, Margaret "Peggy". Earl was a longtime employee of Chesapeake & Potomac Telephone Company, veteran, member of Masonic Temple, Lion Club and many years coaching softball and Little League in McLean. He began the golf marshal program at Algonkian Regional Park and Golf Course. Visitation will be at Murphy Funeral Home, 1102 W. Broad Street, Falls Church on Friday, July 21 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 6 to 8 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Walker Chapel U.M.C. at 4102 North Glebe Rd., Arlington, Va. on Saturday, July 22 at 10 a.m. Burial to follow in the church cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations are requested to be made to Walker Chapel U.M.C. in memory of Earl Connor.

I remember Earl Connor (and his wife Peggy) fondly. After my husband, George, and I married in 1994, we had our honeymoon in VA. Earl and Peggy drove us on some "sightseeing" trips--I liked these very much. Also not only enjoyed their wonderful company/conversation, but a few of these times took place during dinner at The Red Fox Inn...a very old inn (hotel) and quite an historic place where George and I stayed a few times. I do miss Earl and Peggy--have for a long time. Praise God--I wish to see them in heaven someday!
