Magee,Edith Burton,on January 19,2011 of Galesville, MDBeloved wife of the late John Richard Magee. Loving mother of Carole Magee Turner and Richard Edward Magee. Also survived by six grandchildren, five great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild. Dear brother of Marshall Pyles. Preceded in death by her parents and eleven siblings. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. on Thursday at the Hardesty Funeral Home P.A. 905 Galesville Road Galesville, MD 20765. Funeral Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday January 22, 2011 in the Christ Episcopal Church, 220 Owensville Road, West River, MD 20778. Interment at a later date, Baltimore National Cemetery. Contributions are suggested to the Christ Episcopal Church new hall renovation fund. Edith was a very beautiful, gracious person who took great pride in appearance. Larry and I enjoyed her company when we had the chance and are grateful for her friendship and sweet disposition.

Edith knew over 30 years ago when she opened her door an became a second mother to me, she would give me this wonderful, loving extended family. I'm sad for each one of you in your loss.
Countless memories roll thou my heart and I find BIG smiles everywhere, HOPE you will too!
As I "CELEBRATE" her life here on earth, I pray the LORD will hold you close until you feel NO pain.

I was sorry to hear about the passing of my Aunt Edith. I remember Carole bringing Aunt Edith down to Richmond for the 70th class reunion from Varina High School and her visiting with her old classmates from those grand old days. My condolences and best wishes for the McGee family. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in these times. From nephews Ron and Tom Askew
