EDITH POETZSCHKE Obituary
EDITH A. POETZSCHKE (Age 92)
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 23, 2016 in the presence of family. She is survived by her daughters, Ursula and Jutta; her son, Dieter; as well as nine grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. Edith arrived in the United States from Germany in 1957 with her husband, Heinz, daughters, and son Andreas. She lived in Aberdeen, MD then Olney, MD finally residing in Washington, DC. Later in life, Edith started a career as a programmer with Marine Fisheries at NOAA retiring in 1985. She enjoyed hiking, ice skating, travelling and playing mandolin and balalaika with area orchestras.The memorial will be held on April 2. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Holy Cross Home Care and Hospice, 11800 Tech Road, Suite 240, Silver Spring, MD 20904 or online at:http://www.holycrosshealth.org/homecareandhospice making sure to designate Holy Cross Home Care and Hospice.
