I knew ED for over a decade as I produced annually his Finestkind Lobster cards and brochures. Ed came to my place of residence and studio, four places in all to sit down beside me so that he could leave that afternoon with the materials he needed. When he sold that business with its all-important business plan and client list, we shared a gentlemen´s farewell. I know he wanted to settle in the San Diego area, but only today I learn with sadness, ten years after his death, that he probably never did enjoy that San Diego sun that he had often imagined with such certainty.

Not sure whether or not this is the same Ed Rindler who was my English teacher at Cushing Academy in the mid 60's.If so, let me say he was a helluva good guy and a great teacher! Is he the same one? Maybe a friend or family member might know. Sorry for your loss.

I met Ed in 1976 when he moved in with Andy Boyle on St. Botolph St, Boston, Ma. He became my best friend and I saw him daily until he moved to Washington. I visited a few times, but eventually, we lost touch. I am deeply saddened to learn of his loss. We had some fine times.

My husband Sandy and I were part of the FinestKind family and have such fond memories of our time with Ed over more than 20 years. He was a one off. We lost touch with him after he sold the business, so I was shocked and saddened to stumble across the news when I was thinking back fondly on our third Saturday in May lobster fests, which were always a hoot. Please know that Ed touched many lives and left many people with fine memories and funny stories about him. Condolences to the whole Rindler family

so very sorry I just heard of Ed's passing--what a shame. He was such a fun, interesting man--had lots of philosophical chats with him over lobster ordering. He will be missed.

My heart is heavy learning of Ed' Rindler's passing. From the day we met at WMAL, when he was promoting FinestKind Lobster, we became close friends. As I started my own business and went down life's path, Ed was a guiding light and a close friend. After he sold FinestKind, we kept in touch but I lost Ed somewhere over the last two years. So I am taking this opportunity to say goodbye Ed. He used to say that there two things money can't buy, love and a home grown tomatoe. Well Ed, you missed one. Money couldn't have bought a friend like Ed. I will miss him.

Ed had been one of the most important persons in my life ever since I met him in 1981, to the point that I gave my eldest son his middle name of "Edward" in tribute to Ed. I have so many great memories of Ed that there is not enough space here to type them; in particular, I will never forget helping him start Finestkind Lobster and working with him before dawn for 30 years of Lobster Days. He was a mentor as well as a best friend, and my family and I will miss him terribly.
