Dr. Edward Tsou  
Dr. Edward Tsou of Vienna, VA died peacefully in his sleep on July 8, 2021 of a long illness. Son of Yui Lih Tsou and Ying Chang Chu, he grew up in Queens, NY. He graduated Rutgers University and Cornell University Medical College. He proudly served his country as battalion surgeon in the 101st Airbourne Division in Vietnam in 1969-1970. He spent his career at Georgetown University Hospital, where he was an Associate Professor of Medicine and Director of the Physical Diagnosis Course at the Medical School and authored over 30 publications. He received the Lawrence Kyle Award for Teaching Excellence in 1982, the Kaiser-Permanente Award for Excellence in Teaching in 1987, and the Golden Apple Award for Teaching by the Class of 1990. He was inducted into the MAGIS Society of Master Teachers in 2004. After his retirement in 2006, he continued to teach at Georgetown and also volunteered at the H��pital Sacré Coeur in Milot, Haiti. Dr. Tsou is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Carol English Tsou; his daughters, Leslie Meredith Tsou, US Ambassador to the Sultanate of Oman, MaryAnn Tsou Strunk of Apex NC, and Wendy Tsou Berg of Madison NJ; his grandchildren Alexa and Haley Strunk and Oliver and Adelyn Berg; and his sister Carolyn Tsou Flugger. He will be dearly missed by his family, his colleagues, his students, and his dog Lucy. A celebration of Dr. Tsou's life will be held at the Episcopal Church of the Holy Cross in Dunn Loring, VA on Saturday, August 7 at 11 a.m. with a live stream option available. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorial contributions be made to the Georgetown University Pulmonary Division Education Fund at giving.georgetown.edu.
