ELIZABETH REGINA DOUGHERTY "Bette"
Elizabeth "Bette" Regina Dougherty, a longtime resident of Bowie, Maryland, passed away on May 5, 2017 in her home surrounded by her children. She was the beloved wife of the late Brian J. Dougherty. Born in 1931 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Bette was a devoted wife and mother, and a member of St. Pius X Catholic Church since moving to Bowie in 1971. A consummate mother and homemaker, Bette attended daily Mass and McDonalds for over 40 years. Loving mother of David Dougherty (Sandi), Brigid Forcey (Clark), Jena Parks (Dan), Regan Homan (Jim), Brian Dougherty (Christine) and Erin Favazza (John); grandmother of Ryan (Meghan), Katie (Pat), Danny, Derek (Michelle), Fiona, Ben, Shane, Clark, Kelsey, Gretchen (Luke), Matthew (Annette), Rachel, Joseph, Ian, Nicholas, Jacob, Sam, Abby, Elizabeth, Kelly and Sean; great-grandmother of Daniel, Michael, Remington, Nora, Emma, Maverick and Peanut; and dear sister of Diana Geissler and Robert Fettig. Family will receive friends at the family-owned BEALL FUNERAL HOME, 6512 NW Crain Hwy. (Rte. 3 South), Bowie, Maryland on Thursday, May 11, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Pius X Catholic Church, 14720 Annapolis Road, Bowie, Maryland on Friday, May 12, 2017 at 2 p.m. Interment, private. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to St. Pius X Catholic Church or Hospice of the Chesapeake, 90 Ritchie Highway, Pasadena, Maryland, 21122.
