ELIZABETH FULTON Obituary
ELIZABETH McFERREN FULTON "Betty"
Formerly of Hancock, MD and Las Vegas, NV died on March 5, 2017. A graduate of Montgomery Blair High School in Silver Spring, MD and an honors graduate of the University of Maryland, Betty was a homemaker and community volunteer. She served as a Girl Scout troop leader and served on the Board of Directors of Shawnee Girl Scout Council. Betty was president of the Republican Women's Club of Las Vegas, a campaign manager and was active in the political process. She supported St. Jude's Ranch for Children and was a member of St. Mark Catholic Church. She was a talented artist and shared these talents with many organizations. Betty was known for her quick wit and bright sense of humor.She is survived by her children, Deborah, Elizabeth (Thomas Jones), Stanley (Halie), Michael, Lucinda Tischer, Virginia and 12 grandchildren. She is also survived by siblings, William McFerren, Jean Cannefax, Robert (Calleen) McFerren, Gerald (Lavona) McFerren and Marilyn McFerren (Don Oldt).The family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 8 from 6 to 8 p.m., at Money and King Funeral Home, 171 West Maple Avenue, Vienna, VA. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Mark Catholic Church, 9970 Vale Road, Vienna, VA on Thursday, March 9 at 10:30 a.m.

As little girls, Marilyn and I must have pestered Betty, but she was always kind and loving through all those encounters. A beautiful person inside and out.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the children and family. Betty was an encouragement to John and I when we visited her years ago. She was so positive and fun and know she will be missed by so many.

It was with great sadness that we learned of your mom's passing. It is hard to lose any family member, but the loss of a mother is especially difficult since a mother's love is unconditional. I, too, as an Eucharistic Minister, from St. Thomas a Becket, had the privilege of bringing Holy Communion to Betty over several years. She always looked great and when we would start to recite the Our Father her countenance would especially light up and she would be ready to receive the Eucharist. Her caregivers in the room and me, as well, knew this was a special moment for all of us. Also, I got to meet Michael (Betty's son, if I recall his name accurately) a few times over the years. Your Mom enriched my experience and I will always remember it. Peace be with her family and friends.

As an Eucharistic Minister from St. Thomas a Becket Church in Reston, I had the great pleasure of bringing Holy Communion to Betty during the past few years. She was lovely and gracious even as she began to decline. Her smile lit up the room, especially after she consumed the Holy Body of Christ. God welcomed a new angel. God held her in the palm of His hand and lifted her up to Heaven. Peace and blessings to all your family.
