ELLEN WINKLER Obituary


Ellen Fletcher Winkler  January 20, 1929 - June 19, 2021  
Ellen passed away on June 19, 2021. During her 92 years, she fulfilled her vocations as a devoted wife and mother, music teacher, and religious educator. Ellen was preceded in death by her youngest daughter Angelica; brother Herbert Fletcher; sisters-in-law Mona Fletcher, Hilda Neumann and Isolde Winkler; and brothers-in-law Erhard Winkler and Berthold Winkler. She is survived by her husband, Othmar; children, John Winkler of Valparaiso, FL, Mary Dezso (Brian) of Westport, CT, Thomas Winkler, MD (Lauren) of Bethesda, MD, James Winkler, PhD (Mary Packard) of Bethesda, MD, Mark Winkler of San Diego, CA and Margaret Fabien (Derick) of Sarasota, FL; 10 precious grandchildren and many nephews and nieces. A Celebration of Life service will be held on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at 11 a.m., St. Ann's Catholic Church in Arlington, Virginia followed by a reception in the parish hall immediately afterwards. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations can be made in Ellen Winkler's name to the Catholic Charities of the Diocese of Arlington, VA.
