Eric W. Nyman
June 10, 2023, Eric W. Nyman of Arlington, Virginia, died suddenly at Virginia Hospital Center. He leaves behind a wife, three children, and six grandchildren. No services are planned. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to either Virginia Hospital Center, Infinite Legacy, or Anatomy Gifts.

Eric was a good friend, full of knowledge and stories and info. Amateur Radio brought us together. He spoke often about his family. So sorry for your loss.

Eric and I sometimes met at the Westover Speed Shop, on Washington Blvd. Eric was a successful drag racer in the 60's from the time he was about 18. He had a wealth of knowledge about increasing the performance of Chrysler V-8 engines.

I worked with him at AT&T Garden City and later he worked for me in Oakton. A genius.

Eric's family and my family live near the Four Mile Run stream and we would discuss the wildlife we frequently saw around our homes and in the neighborhood, especially deer and foxes, when we encountered each other, usually at the farmer's market.

Eric was a 10-10 net participant every week, except when he seeing his grandchildren. He was amazingly knowledgeable about everything electronic.

Eric was a great friend and enjoyed discussing electronics and amateur radio on several ham radio communications networks, daily and weekly, as well as on the Web.

Eric was employed by A T & T for many years as a microwave engineer maintaining and upgrading critical microwave communications systems before they were replaced by fiber optics.

Eric and I corresponded over the Web for many years about hobby electronics. He enjoyed sharing details about the electronics projects he was building.

Eric was great at "souping up" Chrysler V-8 powered vehicles during the 1960's. He and I took turns with our vehicles outracing each other at drag strips.
