Ethel Roach Obituary

ROACH, ETHEL C.

ETHEL COOKSEY ROACH, 69, of Leesburg, VA died at home on January 22, 2004. She was born March 21, 1934 in Leesburg, VA to the late Lawrence T. Cooksey and the late Eva H. Cooksey. She graduated from Leesburg High School in 1952 and the UVA Nursing School in 1956. She had a long career in nursing including 20 years with the Loudoun County Public Health Department. She was also active in her husband's electrical engineering business. Ethel loved to travel and was an avid gardener. She is survived by her husband Theodore H. Roach; two daughters Carla Ewart of Texas, and Susan Jennings of Bluemont, VA; two sons Steve Roach of Iowa and John Roach of Warrenton, VA; one brother Robert Cooksey, five grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews, and friends. A brother Lawrence "Sonny" Cooksey predeceased her. Visitation is Tuesday, January 27, 2004 from 7 to 9 p.m. with services on Wednesday, at 1 p.m. at the COLONIAL FUNERAL HOME in Leesburg. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 124 Park St. S.E., Vienna, VA 22183-0699 or Hospice of the National Capital Region, 9300 Lee Hwy., Suite 500, Fairfax, VA 22031-1207.
