EUGENE MAYO Obituary

EUGENE DOUGLAS MAYO
Peacefully on Thursday, April 11, 2013 Eugene Douglas Mayo passed away. Devoted father of Darwin Troy (Tonia) and Jibri Rashad (Ranesa) Mayo; beloved son of Corrine Jones and the late Wilson O. Williams. He is also survived by five grandchildren Josiah, Amari, Joshua, Asia and Cadasia; his former wife Jeannette Mayo; special friend Susan King; and a host of other relatives and friends. Visitation on Thursday, April 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Marshall Heights, 4934 B Street SE, other service and interment Whittaker, North Carolina. Our hearts are heavy now from the loss of our beloved son, nephew, cousin, but when we think about Douglas, we can ony thank God for sharing him with us for 62 years. We know God did not make a mistake. His smile and memories will live on in our lives. We love him but God loved him best.

Douglas personified the true meaning of family. I will greatly miss my cousin, especially the laughs during CIAA and his calls to see if I cooked gumbo on the Friday after Thanksgiving.
