It was a great shock to read that Gene has passed on--what sad news. He was a wonderful man who lived with such joy. We became friends when we were in the same section at the Command & Gneral Staff College. During that school year, Penny and my wife, Joan, both gave birth to sons. I saw him infrequently during the years we've lived in the Washington area but each time it was a treat to be with him. Joan joins me in sending heartfelt condonlences to his family.

I had the privilege of working with General Renzi while he was at United Way of America. His vast experience, his leadership abilities and his understanding of the importance of teamwork were admired. His delightful stories and his willingness to share his knowledge with others were appreciated. He was a fine man. I convey my sympathy and prayers to his family, friends and co-workers.

To Gene's family - Your Dad was the epitome of warmth and friendship and he always gave great attention to his work, his family and to the US-Panama Council. The council was so very priveleged to have a friend such as Gene and we will all so miss his laughter and love of so many of us.
A great man has left us. We will never forget him. With deepest sympathy to you all. Gail and JJ McNally
