I am a member of the New York State bar and a graduate of Georgetown University Law Center. In 1975, I prepared for the bar exam, taking the BRI course. I always remembered Faust Rossi for his effective, engaging presentation and, I know, for its impact in enabling me to pass on the first taking of the exam.
We never can comprehend the significance of a person´s influence and all the lives they can touch. I am a volunteer at White Plains Hospital, in Westchester County, New York. Today at the hospital, speaking with a staff member whose daughter will be taking the bar exam this summer, I mentioned what a memorable teacher Faust Rossi was, almost 50 years ago. A woman walking past stopped in her tracks, and asked: "Did you say Faust Rossi?" I explained, and she said that he was her professor at Cornell Law School, and that her own daughter would be taking the bar exam this year.
We shared our amazement at the coincidental encounter and our esteem for Faust Rossi.
I felt I would be remiss if I didn´t share the experience and to express to Dr. Rossi´s school and family yet another person´s gratitude for his part in my life.

I had Professor Rossi for Evidence and Civil Procedure. Several years later, when I was practicing law in Rochester, N.Y., I received an unsolicited, unanticipated offer from him to teach 2 sections of Practice Training to first year students in their second semester. This is a course where the instructor gives students research assignments so they can practice using the law books they learned about in the first semester. I taught this course on Friday afternoons for 2 winters. I deeply appreciate the opportunity Professor Rossi gave me.
