Faye Golden Obituary


FAYE LOUISE GOLDEN (Age 97)  
Formerly of Alexandria, VA; passed away on October 13, 2011, at her daughter's residence in Fredericksburg, VA. Born July 3, 1914 in Salem, WV; daughter of the late Claude and Leeothe Richards. She had one sister, Delma Allyn, deceased. She is survived by her daughter Donna Lowther, Fredericksburg, VA and June Gaulding of Palm Desert, California, A son, Ronald, passed away March 11, 1965 in a car accident. She is survived by five grandchildren, June Swanhart, Sterling, VA, Janet Boger, Herndon, VA, Ronald Myers, Fredericksburg, Mark Gaulding, Palm Desert, CA, Janet Frost of Indianapolis, IN. James Myers who preceded her in death. There are seven great-grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren.Faye moved from Salem, WV to Alexandria and went to work for the Defense Department in 1955. She retired in 1979. Faye joined the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Alexandria, VA and became Local President, 15 year secretary and then served as Virginia State Madam President in 1963. Faye joined the Moose Lodge in Arlington and served with the Golden Moose many years as their Secretary. Friends may call at the Everly-Wheatley Funeral Home, 1500 W. Braddock Road, Alexandria, VA 22302 on Wednesday, October 19, 2011 from 6 to 8 p.m. where services will be held on Thursday, October 20, 2011 at 1:30 p.m. in the funeral home chapel. Interment to follow at Ivy Hill Cemetery in Alexandria. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made to the Mary Washington Hospital Hospice in Fredericksburg, VA. www.everlyfuneralhomes.com
