Fern Callender Obituary
Fern was the beloved wife of Dr. Clive O. Callender for 56 years; loving mother of Joseph (Monica), Ealena, and Arianne Callender (Kathleen Overr); devoted grandmother of Caleb and Zachary Callender; cherished sister of Brenda, George, Donna, and Suzanne, as well as Jacqueline, Patricia and Pamela who welcomed her home with open arms, and was dear to many other relatives and friends. She will be remembered for her warmth, generosity, and her lifelong devotion to family and community.
Service will be held on Friday, April 25, 2025 at Asbury United Methodist Church, 926 11th St. NW, Washington, DC 20001, Wake 10 a.m., Service 11 a.m.

To our dear childhood friend, Fern Marshall Callender. We just had a beautiful visit at the 80th birthday celebration of our friend, Kathleen Simms Mosley in Northampton, Mass in September 2025.

Our dear Fern Marshall Callender has gone on to eternal rest. Her journey here on earth is over. Her plentiful works in the vineyards are complete. She has now transitioned to a place where there is no more suffering, no more pain, no more sorrow, but a place where joy and gladness abides. Her faithfully departed ancestors are there and she has been gathered up to be with her people.
Condolences and we affirm that a loving GOD through Christ Jesus will sustain Dr. Callender and her family as they navigate through this dark storm in their lives knowing that the sun will shine in the morning.
