Fern C. Cole, 78, native of Glen Echo, MD, died February 18, 2007 in Columbus, OH. She had been a resident of Winchester Place, Alzheimer Care Unit since December 2002. Fern was preceded in death by her husband, Arthur Harold Cole, native of Portsmouth, OH. Survived by daughters, Robin Conklin and husband, Glen of Columbus, OH, and Phyllis Jespersen and husband, John of Frederick, MD; son, Douglas Cole and wife, Clarissa of Oviedo, FL; sixgrandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are four sisters, Fleta, Faith, Finece and Ruth. Fern had been employed by VITRO Laboratories in Rockville, MD and retired from there in the early 1990s. In addition to spending time with family and friends, Fern enjoyed arts and crafts, gardening, baking, music and dancing. Private memorial services will be held this spring.
