GAITAN de NARVAEZ FERNANDO GAITAN de NARVAEZ (Age 93) On January 15,2009 of McLean, VA passed away at his home. Loving husband of Teresa Gaitan; devoted father of Fernando Jose (Susan), Alberto (Victoria), Helena Kenevan (Simon), Maria Mercedes Endres (Woody), Miguel (Patricia) and Ricardo (Heather). Brother of Ana Gaitan, Julia Schmidt and Eduardo Gaitan. He is also survived by ten grandchildren, Andres, Cristina, Nicole, Veronica, Taplan, Max, Lucas, Alejandra, Liliana and Nicolas. Friends may call at St. Luke Catholic Church, 7001 Georgetown Pike, McLean, VA 22101 on Monday, January 19, 2009 from 10 until Mass of Christian Burial at 11 a.m. In lieu of flowers the family suggests that contributions be made to Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, Mail Stop J5-200, P. Dear Teresa and family - we dearly wish it had been possible to be at Fernando's Mass today but please know that our hearts and thoughts are with you all as you gather together to celebrate Fernando's life. From the first moment we met Fernando, we felt we'd always known him. He was kind and gentle, always fascinating to talk to, so experienced in the world and always interested in everyone and everything around him. He loved his family and nothing could be more perfect than that, in his last journey, his entire beloved family was around him and enjoying his company and each other. I imagine nothing but warmth and love emanating from all. It must have been a huge comfort for you, for him and for all the family. Fernando may be gone from this earth but never from the minds and hearts of those who knew and loved and admired him. Please count Dick and I in this loving group - we feel so fortunate to be part of the gaitan family, linked through our children and grandchildren. What a great man!
