Fielder Israel Obituary

Rev. Fielder Israel, Jr. passed from this life to the next at his home on September 1, 2025, with his loving family by his side.
Fielder was born in Washington, DC on April 20, 1937, to parents, Fielder Israel and Margaret Mackall Israel.
Fielder married the love of his life, Gretchen Scherer, and they shared the last 54 years together. Their lives were blessed with sons, Andrew and Stuart Israel, daughter-in-law, Thea Burdnell Israel, and three grandchildren, Charlotte Elizabeth, Mather Longshore, and Stuart Jr.
Fielder is survived by his wife, sons, daughter-in-law, grandchildren, his sister Lucy Oliver, his sister-in-law Barbara Scherer, and his large extended family of nieces, nephews, grandnieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Memorial Service celebrating his life will be was held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, at three o'clock at Grace Anglican Church in White Post, VA, and a private burial was held in Georgetown, Washington, DC, for family only.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to The Leukemia And Lymphoma Society, 1201 15th Street N.W., Suite 410, Washington, DC, 20005.
