Fred and Renee are authentic American heroes. More, they have always been thoughtful and passionate and humble. I am proud that they are both (still) great friends to my family.

Fred was not just a great boss, he was also a good friend. I have many fond memories of that shared "chapter" in our life, to include the Bay to Breakers race in San Francisco and the warm hospitality we always enjoyed at Fred and Rene's home. We're deeply sadened at the loss of Fred in all our lives and send our love and prayers to Rene.

Fred was one of the friendliest persons we have ever met. He had a way of making everyone feel comfortable and accepted. We knew Fred only on the trip to Kenya and Tanzania, Africa, but we will never forget him.

Renee, our hearts go out to you.

Fred was a highly esteemed friend, campmate, and soldier -- combining the finest qualities of any one of these categories of human interaction. His humility in the face of adversity on the golf course, created by his own doing, will forever command my admiration. He was a magnificant man!
