FRANK RICH Obituary
FRANK HART RICH, SR. (Age 93)
Passed away peacefully on January 8, 2015 from natural causes. He leaves behind Anadel, his beloved wife of 55 years and his children, whom he adored, Frank and his wife, Alex, Polly, Elizabeth and her husband, Matthew, Ned, and Abby and her husband, John. A fourth generation Washingtonian, he was a devoted grandfather, friend, and neighbor. A service will be held Sunday, January 11, 5:30 p.m. at Temple Sinai, 3100 Military Rd., NW, Washington, DC. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his honor may be made to DC Vote, A Wider Circle, or a charity of choice.

Thinking of you, Mrs. Rich, and Ned, and all other dear ones of the wonderful Frank H. Rich Sr. Mr. Rich was a hugely important person in the life of my grandfather, Harry F. Hannasch, and in our family's life. We will always remember and admire his gusto, warmth, humor, generosity, passion for others, and big heart. May he rest in peace, and may you know how much he was loved.

To Mr. Rich's family, our deepest condolences. He was a wonderful man, always so kind to us. My grandfather, Harry Hannasch, worked with Mr. Rich for a long time, and I have fond memories of some of the times we rode up or downtown together. Love and hugs to Mrs. Rich and to Ned, whom we haven't seen for ages, and to all. You are in our thoughts and prayers, and we give thanks for the light you were in our lives long ago.

My deepest condolences to Anadel and Frank's family. I always enjoyed my conversations with Frank, whether talking about the city he loved or the children of whom he was so proud. I hope the writers in the family will pen a book about Frank -- he had a lot to say! Thank you Anadel for sharing him with us all.

My deepest condolences to the Rich family. I remember Mr. Rich coming into the Rich's Shoe store in Georgetown on the last few days it was closing. We needed help because so many customers came to the store. Mr. Rich never hesitated to pitch in that day. He was funny, charming and a hard worker! That was a good day that I will always remember.

My condolences to Anadel and all of Frank's family. I worked with Frank in DC Government for a few years and thoroughly enjoyed our spirited discussions about the City that he loved so dearly. Frank left an indelible mark.

Condolences for his family. I did't grow up in the DC area, but I became interested when I read Mr. Rich's obituary in the Post. I hope to find more information about this remarkable man. He was an inspirational, hard working man and apparently touched many people's lives.
