FREDERICK A. KILPATRICK August 18, 1930 - January 23, 2022
"Grandpa Fritz' passed away on January 23, 2022 in Manassas, VA and joins his wife June. He is survived by his two sons, Mark and Chris Kilpatrick, their wives,Pat and Sharon; and four grandchildren, Stephanie, Daniel, Amber, and William Kilpatrick. Fritz was born in Pennrose, NC, lived in Atlanta, GA, Fort Collins, CO, and then Northern, VA. He served as a Captain in the Army Medical Corp. during the Korean war, earned his Bachelor's and Master's Degrees in Civil Engineering at Georgia Tech, and worked his entire career for the United States Geological Survey as a Hydrologist in the Water Resources Division. Fritz loved the outdoors, woodworking and building all kinds of projects - from being a Scoutmaster for troop 655, canoeing the many streams of Virginia and West Virginia, building several houses and additions and furniture, and taking up golf he led an active and fulfilling life. His and June's wishes were to have both their ashes spread across the waters of Cedar Creek (one their favorite streams in Virginia). We will have a small service this Spring at Cedar Creek to keep everyone safe from covid and to accommodate their final wishes.
