Fred was my neighbor for many years and I loved his humor and warmth. He once offered to teach my son how to shoot a bow and arrow, something my son now regrets he never took advantage of. Another son, while in high school, bought his first car from Fred for $500. It was an Oldsmobile Regency with enough metal around it to be the perfect first car for a teenager. That car was passed from son to son, and for three boys, it was their first car.
