We were in Silver Springs in early September 2009 and visited with George just after He had his second medical emergency. During this visit we spent time with George and He made it clear to us what his wishes were for his continuing medical challenges. We understood what He wanted to do concerning his medical choices. These choices were understood and honored. Manor Care in Chevy Chase, Md. was chosen as the place where George would go to live and be cared for. In the fall of 2008 we visited with George and had a great time together. We visited Georgetown where George and Tammy grew up and George was our guide, showing us many of the places they had frequented as children. We all had dinner together one evening in Silver Springs at one of his favorite restaurants. George will be remembered for his smile, great attitude toward others and his love for God.

Missing you. Tammy & Lee

My brother-in-law George had a very positive outlook on life. He could always turn lemons into lemonade. He took the hand that was dealt to him in this life and made the very best of it time and time again.

I will miss him. Lee

Cousin George and I were both named after our grandfather, I believe. At some point in our early adult years we began to lose touch and I regret that. There are still great memories though of my brothers, sister, and I spending time with him and Cousin "Pat" when we were young. They lived next to the family restaurant in those days and sometimes we'd just hang out on the front steps of their home. We were younger than they were and they'd be kind of looking out after us. George was about nine years older and on occasion would babysit me. I can still hear and picture him one time telling me, "You need to eat your soup ... it's good for you!" As I recall, I ate the soup. My memories of George will always be from those days and that he was fun to be with. God bless him.

Uncle George was always making jokes and having fun! He always said he was coming to visit me, and one Thanksgiving he did!
He'll be missed, Becky
