G. Gordon Liddy is fondly remembered as an outstanding talk radio personality from the Nineties, the last decade of truly great radio. He was highly educated and intelligent, yet humble enough to introduce his listeners to "the smartest man in America - if not the world - Thomas Sowell." He engaged his audience, as the Washington Bleep once wrote, with "his aura of Spartan strength and certitude” as he entertained with stories about guns, fast cars, the military, the legal profession, politics, law enforcement, crime, prison, and other delights. I particularly recall the episode where he explained that, having confirmed that a statute of limitations had just expired, he was for the first time at liberty to tell us a story about a successful prison escape. In short, the impression was that our host was a man who had loved pulp adventure fiction and had firmly decided to play the role of every thrilling character. Requiem aeternam dona ei, Domine, et lux perpetua luceat ei. Requiescat in pace. Amen.

Circa summer 1996, G a guest a radio show remote, the host on a stage w/ a railed ramp up to it, maybe 50ft. Instead tho of walking up the ramp, Gman strode to its mid point & in one motion, leapt up grabbed the top railing & swung himself between the top & bottom rails, a move Olympic gymnasts would marvel at.
The crowd - momentarily stunned at this, "entrance" - broke into applause as G Gordon completed walking up to the stage. If Gman had flubbed the move to say the least it would have been hugely embarrassing, an injury not even out of the question but G acted as if it was how he always entered a ramped walkway. What a guy; what a performer; what a man. Rest easy Gman - you were indeed, "da man."

Amazing patriotic American. I loved his no nonsense radio show in the 1990's. I purchased his Stacked and Packed Calendar for my son's 16th birthday. My son loved the calendar. G Gordon will be buried not far from my parents grave in St Peter's Cemetery. I shall stop by to pay my respects. Rest in Peace.
