PETROPOULOS
DR. GEORGE P. PETROPOULOS

On Friday, February 16, 2007. He is survived by Chrissellene G. Petropoulos, Dimitrios A. Mantzouranis and Katherine Zanotti Services are private.

Dr. Petropoulos was born one of 19 children in a village in Greece, lived through World War II in Germany, achieved three doctorates and eight specialty titles, saved lives on the operating table, helped Jewish people to escape the war, was awarded the Bill of Reciprocity by President Truman, changed the law where he worked in Washington, D.C., to allow African-American people to be his patients.

These were outstanding accomplishments, but when asked what his greatest accomplishment of his 97 year life is? "I never raised my voice or argued with my wife!! ACCEPT, FORGET and PROCEED!"

Ever so often an exquisite gift touches our lives. Your father was just such a man. Brilliant yet humble, fearless and compassionate. It was an honor to know him.
Peace to you and your family. He would want that.

Chrissellene you were very fortunate to have such a loving Father for all those years. May his memories be eternal.
