Dear Rita Family, my sincerest condolences go out to you as I just learned of Mr. Rita's passing. You may not remember me, but I lived on Crowley and was friends with Margaret and Alice in high school. My parents still live in Waynewood and I am in Florida right now. I know we gave you all a few sleepless nights with our slumber parties! I would love to get in touch with Alice and Margaret. If you could pass on my information, I would be most grateful. My email is [email protected]. Sending love and prayers your way! Kindest regards, Lorraine Conte (Bell)

George was my friend and colleague for many years at the Tax Division, and I am sorry to hear of his passing. He was a warm friend with a wonderful sense of humor, and we all remember how much his faith and family meant to him. Warmest regards to his family.

It's hard to imagine Waynewood and Collingwood without Mr. Rita. He and his family were one of the first families we met when we moved into the neighborhood in the early 60's. For Don and me, it was fun to know another set of "twins". And, while we didn't see each other as often as we did when we were kids, it was always nice to think that he was just around the corner. Our thoughts, prayers and wonderful memories are with you.

To our dear friends the Grovers and their Rita family, we extend our heartfelt sympathy. We have fond memories of George at our family dinner with the two Toastmaster grandfathers. His image will remain with us as the stately Southern gentleman at Max and Jan's high school graduation. You are in our thoughts.

Deep condolences from one of George's colleagues in the Department of Justice Tax Division. Sharing an office with George's father, "Pop" Rita was a joy for many reasons, not the least that George frequently visited. "Pop" was nighty proud of his son, and with good reason. He was a splendid lawyer and as jolly as he was bright. My heart goes out to his wonderful family.

Pat and the entire Rita family, the Powers family will miss George greatly. He was a devout man and a true patriot. We lived next door to Goerge and Pat for 12 years and we could not have asked for better neighbors. Sincerely, Bob, MaryBeth, Jacob and AJ Powers

I worked with George at the Justice Department's Tax Division in the late 1970s and early 1980s. He had a priceless sense of humor and a door that was always open to younger attorneys who needed advice. When I ran into him later, after his retirement, I noticed that none of those personal skills had deteriorated. One very very nice guy.

Dear Aunt Pat and my "Rita" cousins, my thoughts and prayers are with you all as you go through another difficult time in life! I hope you will find peace and comfort in knowing that Uncle George is safely home now with the loved ones that went before him. Among my fond memories is my flight to Detroit when Uncle Joe Bird passed, and we accidently bumped into each other at the airport. With his dry humor, he kept me laughing the entire trip! God bless you all! With love, Cousin Ellen aka "GO GO"!!
