"Bella" Gloria was our beloved adopted Abuela who welcomed me into her home & her family over 32 years ago when I met my shipmate Randy aboard the 688 Class Fast Attack Submarine USS CINCINNATI (SSN 693) while we were both stationed in Norfolk. After spending weekend after weekend with Randy, working with his brothers for his Dad Tony's various enterprises, Gloria took to calling me her "Fourth Son" & thus my brother-in-arms became my adopted brother. Tony became the father I never had as a young man & as the years sped by; after marrying my beautiful wife Christine, Bella became Abuela to my children, Briana & Blair, who were welcomed as her own grand babies & basked in her love whenever we visited. Bella Gloria's beautiful and unique spirit and her unlimited capacity for unconditional love changed our lives forever. Beautiful both inside & out, talented, strong, funny, with a contagious laugh, and a wonderful cook, she will be sorely missed until we are all reunited with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ in Heaven above. God bless you Bella and thank you for all the love, fellowship, family, and of course, the good food. We love you so very much. Love, Sean, Christine, Briana & Blair. ❤

A MOTHER'S LOVE is like an island
In life's ocean vast and wide,
A peaceful, quiet shelter
From the restless, rising tide ...
A MOTHER'S LOVE is like a fortress
And we seek protection there
When the waves of tribulation
Seem to drown us in despair ...
A MOTHER'S LOVE'S a sanctuary
Where our souls can find sweet rest
From the struggle and the tension
Of life's fast and futile quest ...
A MOTHER'S LOVE is like a tower
Rising far above the crowd,
And her smile is like the sunshine
Breaking through a threatening cloud ...
A MOTHER'S LOVE is like a beacon
Burning bright with FAITH and PRAYER,
And through the changing scenes of life
We can find a HAVEN THERE ...
For a MOTHER'S LOVE is fashioned
After God's enduring love,
It is endless and unfailing
Like the love of HIM above ...
For God knew in HIS great wisdom
That HE couldn't be EVERYWHERE
So HE put HIS LITTLE CHILDREN
In a LOVING MOTHER'S CARE.

Please accept my sincere sympathies. Do not underestimate the value of prayer. It is not that prayer simply makes us feel better. Our Heavenly Father assures us : " Draw close to God and he will draw close to you. " ( James 4 : 8 ) Yes, more than anything else, a relationship with God can help his faithful servants to cope with the death of a loved one.
