HAMLET H. DOUGLAS, JR. "Hank"
Passed away peacefully on Tuesday, July 4, 2017 in Washington, DC. Dear husband of 40 years of Betty "Bing" Bradshaw. A native Washingtonian, Hamlet is survived by brothers, Kevin Douglas and Brian Douglas (Lesia); uncles, Herbert, Ralph and Larry; aunts Doris and Yvonne. on Tuesday, July 18, 2017 a gathering of family and friends will be held at Calvary Episcopal Church, 820 6th St. NE. Washington, DC. for a 10 a.m. visitation and a 11 a.m. memorial service. Services by McGuire.

Hank was a friend and member of my photography class at Friendship Gallery in Chevy Chase.
There isn't a day that goes by and I am not reminded of him and friendship and presence in my class. He was fun and witty and smart and a damn good photographer with a very keen eye for detail and light (the essence of my class).
He took the picture of me extolling my Mantra: "It's always, always, always about the Light" Hank is sorely missed.

Hamlet and I attended McKinley Tech High School and he was a true gentleman. I also knew his wife, Bing Bradshaw, a wonderful lady as well. Hank lived a good life and lived it well.

There's not a class session that goes by that I and the other members of our photography class who knew Hank for all the years he was in the class, don't remember him as a stellar photographic artist and a very dear and charitable friend. We miss you Hank. Rest well.

There isn't a day that goes by that I don't think about Hank. He was a great guy, a great friend and a wonderful photographic artist. His work and commentary is sorely missed in our class. There is a little bit of Hank in all of us when we shoot.

Hank was a true gentleman. He was always so pleasant and easy to talk with about any subject. Hank was also a classmate of mine at McKinley Technical High School and I knew his wife Bing. Very lovely couple. He will long be remembered as long as we live.

Hank was always a gentleman with a great laugh and a great sense of humor. He is sorely missed. When I heard that "Bing" died last year, I knew they were back to together again! They were soul mates! I miss them both.
